The Rise And The Fall Of The Audience
I am aware of the fissures. I am aware of the holes.
I am aware of my feet as I walk on the coals.
The sideshow continues the music. The ringmaster swallows his tears.
The rise and the fall of the audience calms all his fears.
The rise and the fall of the audience allay his fears.
Open to true disillusion, closed to internal affairs;
Representation is slowly climbing the stairs.
Mowing the lawn is not easy when you do not own a house.
But either is falling in love if you're a mouse.
But either is falling in love if you're a mouse.
I am a feeling composer, I compose whatever you feel is best.
I give you what you want and I disregard all of the rest.
Every so often I'm honest. I say just what I want to say.
And this is me; sitting here talking, today
That is me; sitting there talking, today.
