3 Cheers For Modern Music.

They walk all over our helpless minds and they kill our innocence.
As soon as we done turn our backs, they take advantage of our lack of defense.
Cause with their help we've lost control, and there's no time to hit the reverse.
So let's give three cheers to modern music and step into the hearse.

The catchy tune we like to hum is like giving someone the finger.
It evokes some momentary feeling but I promise it won't linger.
Cause when we think it's made us better it's only made us worse.
So let's give three cheers to modern music and step into the hearse.

It's not like me to be a pessimist. It's not like me to be down.
I've been sitting by the radio. I've become tepid to the sound.

Everything sounds like something. Everything is all the same.
I sometimes wonder why people want to get afflicted with this game.
'Cause as far as I can see it now, it only gets you an ugly curse.
So let's give three cheers to modern music and step into the hearse.

It's not like me to be a pessimist. It's not like me to be down.
I've been sitting by the radio. I've become tepid to the sound.

I'm not sure why I'm singing this song. I know it doesn't fit.
The subject that I'm singing about makes me look like a hypocrite.
But if I'm gonna be labeled a lunatic: accused of getting worse
I'll give three cheers to modern music and step into the hearse.

It's not like me to be a pessimist. It's not like me to be down.
I've been sitting by the radio. I've become tepid to the sound.
