If You Wanna Be a Sunflower

Friday night, I'm in a practice room, and you are at the bar.
I'll give you that you're having more fun than me, but at least I can drive my car.
I saw you on the street earlier; you didn't know what had happened.
Honey, I've changed so much by now that you wouldn't even recognize Charlie Chaplin.

So Saturday I went out. Business as usual.
I tried to dig a hole in the reservoir that fills you.
You say I'm only angry because the war, I know, you've won,
But I know the Mattel Toy Company manufactured all your guns.

So many intentions, so sweetly pretentious;
Honey, I got a thing, baby, I admit.
But if you wanna be a sunflower,
Go find somebody else to sow all of your seed.

I gave you all I could; 85 percent.
You wanted me to tell you where the other 15 went.
I then went into detail trying to explain, but you said,
'Honey, you only use ten percent of your brain.'

So many intentions, so sweetly pretentious;
Honey, I got a thing, baby, I admit.
But if you wanna be a sunflower,
Go find somebody else to sow all of your seed.
